Caring for a Rex rabbit is not too difficult at all. You just have to get a cage appropriate for its size, so if you have one in self storage go get it.

A bit of care has to be taken with its food servings. Fruits must be given sparingly as some are high in sugar which could be bad for the rabbit’s health. You must feed the Rex rabbit pellets at ΒΌ cup every day per 2.5kg of weight. It is also important that fresh greens are really good for them and must be in its diet. Fresh water must be on hand at all times.

The Rex rabbit can be susceptible to cold and flu during the colder cold months therefore it is necessary to keep it inside the house most of the time. It likes to be petted and enjoys sitting on your lap while being stroked. Its fur does not require regular grooming. You just have to trim its nails on a regular basis.

A young Rex rabbit has to be vaccinated against viral infections. A male Rex rabbit can be neutered when it is 4 months old to avoid sexual aggression and so with the female to avoid uterine cancer. Proper handling is important because the rabbit has a delicate body and it is prone to skeletal injuries.

The Rex rabbit is a gentle pet to take care of. It would require some motivation to train it not to litter and do some tricks.

Generally, the Rex rabbit is an ideal pet for any home. As long as your children are instructed how to handle it as a pet, then this rabbit is a joy to have around.
